JCB’s dealer network is one of the reasons I keep putting their machines in the decision mix. A global network doesn’t guarantee a good local experience, but it gives you a better chance of getting a part in time. That’s worth something when a machine is down.
What I’d Buy, If I Had to Choose
If my operation was agricultural or material handling—palletized loads, feed bags, barn work, bulk material stacking—I’d put the JCB Agri telehandler high on the list. The reach at height and the quick attachment system fit that world. If my world was excavation, utilities, compact residential sites, or frequent trench work, I’d look hard at the JCB 85Z.
But I wouldn’t buy either machine without first asking a few of those “are you smarter than a 5th grader questions” internally. If every answer points to low utilization, my answer is: rent the machine, or find a way to use an engine hoist and a trailer instead. The right equipment isn’t the one with the strongest brand. It’s the one that makes money at your site, not just on paper.
